Be The Belle of the Ball

When I was younger I used to daydream about being Belle from the Beauty & The Beast movie... or maybe Cinderella. Or Princess Aurora. I was pretty sad when I eventually discovered that opportunities to become a princess - or even dress like one - were far and few between. (REEEAAAALLY far and few.)

But that didn't stop me from daydreaming and playing dress-up. I'm the type of girl that hears the ren-fest is coming to town and thinks that it sounds like the perfect time to cinch myself into a corset and flounce around in an old-fashioned skirt. Halloween, community theater, talent shows... if an event sounds like I'll be able to turn myself into something princess-like, I'm all over it.

I know that there are other gals out there like me who are just looking for a good reason to pop a tiara on and go out the door in a swish of skirts, so I thought I'd list a few of my low-priced favorites that will make your next formal affair a lovely one! If you decide to buy, pretty please make your purchase through me so I can earn a few pennies through my affiliate links that will help keep my blog going! ♥

You just gotta have a crown...

When it comes to tiaras, make sure you're picking classic styles over this-is-my-bachelorette-party-fashion. One will make you look classy, and the other will make you look trashy. A good rule of thumb is that if the tiara contains any heart or flower shapes, ditch it. I like tiaras with pointed tips for a Victorian feel - like the one seen below.

Sometimes it's all about the shoes...

While we can't really get a glass slipper like Cinderella (Can you imagine if you busted a heel? Yowch!), we can still channel our inner princess thanks to an awesome variety of glass-slipperesque heels. I especially like these ones with glitzy rhinestones scattered over the top strap.

And of course the night wouldn't be complete without a handbag.

I am obsessed with buying handbags to match my outfits. Sometimes I snag them at tag sales or thrift shops, but often I just keep an eye on a few of my favorites via Amazon. For me, the perfect bag for a night-out is definitely a clutch - the glam'er the better. I like this one by Bundle Monster that comes in a variety of colors to match your perfect dress.
